Description
Power Up Your Press!
Since the dawn of time, mankind has sought to develop one physical quality above all others: strength. Pure, raw strength.
And when it comes to building it, few movements have been more highly prized than the much-vaunted overhead press.
For example:
- In the British museum there is a massive sandstone from the 6th century BCE on which are carved the words “Bybon son of Phola has lifted me overhead with one hand.” The stone in question weighs 316 lbs!
- Kettlebell king Pavel Tsatsouline has noted that in some parts of Russia pressing a 32 kg (70 lb) kettlebell over your head is considered a rite of passage from boyhood to manhood
- Old school performing strongmen often made one of their main stunts during their stage shows some sort of overhead pressing movement
But then something happened.
Eventually the rugged life Westerners were used to gave way to modern comforts, “strength training” became based around pulleys and machines, and the overhead press fell out of favor with all but a few stubborn die hards who sought to keep this classic lift alive.
In the long run, their efforts paid off, and in the early 2000s classic strength training roared back to the forefront of the Western fitness scene in a big way, bringing with it none other than the mighty military press.
But unlike the world the press had left behind, the world it found itself in was markedly different.
Gone were the days when most people were relatively physically active and had bodies that could adapt to various different movements relatively easily, replaced instead by busted up, deconditioned bodies whose innate abilities to get stronger had largely decayed due to sedentary living.
So while the ever-growing number of kettlebell enthusiasts sought to replace their bourgeois chest press machines with the noble cast iron kettlebell for their upper body strength, a new plague surged through this pioneering populace:
Great progress that suddenly stopped.
Frustrating, seemingly insurmountable plateaus.
Achy, stiff, and uncomfortable shoulders.
In fact, that last one became so common that one now-former Master instructor discovered in an informal survey that something like a whopping 87% of level-2 kettlebell certification candidates complained of shoulder pain!
I myself have experienced it as well – more times than I care to admit.
Not content to accept shoddy shoulders as the price to pay for a big military press, I sought to try, test, and tinker with various long-forgotten training protocols and downright “heretical” approaches to keep my overhead strength climbing ever higher while preventing shoulder pain from doing the same.
Eventually I stumbled upon some things that proved revolutionary.
And not just for me, either. My online coaching clients were rocketing to previously unseen levels of pressing strength WITHOUT grinding their shoulders to dust in the process like most of the people I came across. I knew I was onto something, so I kept tweaking and testing until I had finally concocted a protocol that was so effective at putting heavier weights overhead, yet gentle on the shoulders, that I could no longer keep it to myself and a skeleton crew of my high-paying online students.
And thus, Power Up Your Press was born.
In this program you will learn:

- The Double Kettlebell Press: a bona fide battering ram for smashing through the walls holding you back from breaching the gates of gains (pages 32-33)
- 5 upper body areas to mobilize to mitigate the risk of achy-breaky shoulders in your epic press quest (pages 34-38)
- 4 “blasphemous” drills from the world of bodybuilding and physical therapy that can work wonders at banishing shoulder problems to the dustbin of history(one of which is a favorite of a 6-time Mr. Olympia champion who has said he only WISHES he would have known about them during the height of his career as it could have helped him avoid shoulder injuries!) (pages 39-42)
- An obscure but sensationally effective programming method that almost NO ONE knows about from behind the now-defunct Iron Curtain – lost and largely forgotten by all but a handful of strength fanatics (page 44)
- A fully loaded 10 week program to lead you from pressing perdition to paradise (pages 51-77)
- Much, much more!
Cost for this epic guide is $111
