Bird Dogs of Paradise!
When I was a kid, “flipping someone the bird” (i.e. showing them your middle finger) was the ultimate act of disrespect (and sometimes an invitation to a fight).
In fact, I remember on my second day of middle school a kid on my bus flipped off Mrs. Jasa (the assistant principal) and she chased down the bus, had the driver stop, pulled the kid off, and got him expelled!
In other words, “the bird” was pretty potent.
And as luck would have it, other types of bird have also been known to have an outsized effect.
Take the bird dog, for example.
